MYSTERY HAT patroon, deel 2...
Deel 2: minderen en verdelen.
Minderen:
(enkel volwassen-maat:
rij A: *brei 14 steken, brei 2 steken samen* herhaal tussen * tot einde van de toer
rij B: brei alle steken gewoon recht
rij C: *brei 13 steken, brei 2 steken samen* herhaal tussen * tot einde van de toer
rij D: brei alle steken gewoon recht)
alle maten (voor volwassenen komt dit gewoon na rij A-D):
rij 1: *brei 12 steken, brei 2 steken samen* herhaal tussen * tot einde van de toer
rij 2: brei alle steken gewoon recht
rij 3: *brei 11 steken, brei 2 steken samen* herhaal tussen * tot einde van de toer
rij 4: brei alle steken gewoon recht
rij 5: *brei 10 steken, brei 2 steken samen* herhaal tussen * tot einde van de toer
rij 6: brei alle steken gewoon recht
rij 7: *brei 9 steken, brei 2 steken samen* herhaal tussen * tot einde van de toer
rij 8: brei alle steken gewoon recht
rij 9: *brei 8 steken, brei 2 steken samen* herhaal tussen * tot einde van de toer
rij 10: brei alle steken gewoon recht
Hier knip je de draad door, laat nog een eindje draad van 15-20cm hangen.
De rest van je wol verdeel je in 3 aparte bollen.
Verdelen (alle maten):
1) Zet de 1e 18 steken op een hulpdraad, zet de volgende 18 steken op een 2e hulpdraad, de overgebleven 18 steken begin je rond te breien.
Brei 3 ronden gewoon recht.
2) Zet de 1e 6 steken op een hulpdraad, zet de volgende 6 steken op een 2e hulpdraad, zet de laatste 6 steken op een 3e hulpdraad.
3) De 2e serie steken van 18 steken behandel je op dezelfde manier, de 3e serie 18 steken idem. Je ziet dat je 3 verschillende onderdelen in je muts krijgt.

Part 2: decrease and divide.
Decrease:
(only adult-size:
round A: *knit 14 stitches, knit 2 stitches together* repeat between * until end of round
round B: knit all stitches
round C: *knit 13 stitches, knit 2 stitches together* repeat between * until end of round
round D: knit all stitches
all sizes (for adults, this comes after round A-D):
round 1: *knit 12 stitches, knit 2 stitches together* repeat between * until end of round
round 2: knit all stitches
round 3: *knit 11 stitches, knit 2 stitches together* repeat between * until end of round
round 4: knit all stitches
round 5: *knit 10 stitches, knit 2 stitches together* repeat between * until end of round
round 6: knit all stitches
round 7: *knit 9 stitches, knit 2 stitches together* repeat between * until end of round
round 8: knit all stitches
round 9: *knit 8 stitches, knit 2 stitches together* repeat between * until end of round
round 10: knit all stitches
Cut off the yarn, leave a 6-8 inch long tail.
Divide the rest of the wool you have in 3 parts.
Divide (all sizes):
1) Place the 1st 18 stitches on a strand of yarn, place the following 18 stitches on a second strand of yarn, start knitting the remaining 18 stitches in the round.
Knit 3 rounds.
2) Place the 1st 6 stitches on a strand of yarn, place the following 6 stitches on a second strand of yarn, place the last 6 stitches on a second strand of yarn.
3) Do the same to the 2nd series of 18 stitches, idem for the 3th series of 18 stitches. You now see 3 different parts in your hat.

Mystery KAL: part 1
Zoals beloofd gingen we starten met onze mystery KAL wanneer genoeg mensen mij lieten weten dat ze geïnteresseerd waren. Nu maar hopen dat ze allemaal effectief meedoen... :)
Ik kijk er in ieder geval al naar uit!

MYSTERY HAT patroon, deel 1...
Maten: Baby, Kleuter/Kind, Volwassene
Nodig:
- Wol... DK (ndl. 3-4mm) voor de Baby-maat, Aran (ndl. 4-5mm) voor de Kinder- en volwassenmaat: 100, 120, 150 gram (dat is een gemiddelde, je zal zelf zien in het patroon dat je meer of minder wol kan gebruiken wanneer je het patroon aan je eigen smaak aanpast)
- Naalden... rondbreinaalden in een maat die de juiste stekenverhouden geven
- Stekenmarkeerders
- Stukjes garen waar je steken op kunt opzijzetten (je hebt te veel echte stekenhouders nodig om makkelijk te werken, gewoon stukjes wol waar je een knoopje inmaakt als de steken erop staan, werkt het beste)
Stekenverhouding:
- voor de baby-maat in DK-gewicht: 25st - 30r = 10cm
- voor de andere maten in ARAN-gewicht: 20st - 24r = 10cm
Nota's:
- De baby- en kindermaten lijken opgeschreven bijna hetzelfde. Hier is het vooral het verschil in woldikte en naalddikte die de grootte maken.
- Ik heb 3 dochters, dit patroon is origineel voor hen gemaakt, waardoor het minder geschikt is voor jongetjes. In het patroon heb ik echter aanpassingen beschreven die het patroon wat mannelijker maken, waardoor ook jongetjes hier zeker van kunnen genieten!
- Speel een beetje met de naalddiktes. Vrees je dat je tiener niet in de muts kan, neem dan gewoon een naaldnummer groter... op die manier los je veel problemen op waar je anders maar over blijft piekeren. Het patroon blijft op die manier hetzelfde, terwijl je de grootte met gemak aan je noden kan aanpassen.
Zoals ik al zei, een simpel begin. ;o)

- Lots of strands of yarn to put stitches aside (you need to many to use real stitch-holders, those many would only be in your way)
Gauge:
- for the baby-size in DK-weight: 25st-30r = 4 inch
- for the other sizes in ARAN-weight: 20st-24r = 4 inch
Pattern-notes:
- The baby- and child-size looks the same, written down... the DK and ARAN-weight yarns makes the difference in sizes.
- I have 3 little daughters, this hat is originaly made for them. The result may be a little feminine, but I've written down in the pattern how you can make this hat for a boy too. :) So knitters-for-boys, please feel welcome to join!
- Play with the sizes!!! You have an older child and you're not sure the hat is going to fit them? Use a needle-size bigger! The pattern will be the same, just play with the needle-size ;o)

First mystery KAL
I created a new pattern! And I have to admit, I really like the thing :P
I was thinking about what I would do with it…
Should I put it up for sale or shall I organize a mystery KAL? Spread over 3 or 4 weeks maybe? And every week I write down the next clue.
It’s originaly a childhat (offcourse), but I will put up a baby and adult-version too.
You don’t know what the hat will be like, but I can assure you, it’s a good one! ;o)
Not too hard, I stick with stockinette stitch on this one, but special. Beginners could be easily participating.
I would write the pattern down in English and Dutch.
But first let me see if I can gatter enough people to do a mystery KAL. I want at least 15 volunteers :) so contact friends and family and send them a link to my blog here or to my Ravelry-group (you have to registrate first if you haven't already). In that group is a place to discuss, show pictures and just have a good time together!
Once I have 15 (active) knitters, I'll start with my first mystery KAL.

Het origineel is een kindermuts (uiteraard, hoe kan het ook anders!), maar ik ben van plan er ook de baby- en volwassenmaat bij te zetten.
Op voorhand weet je dus niet hoe het resultaat gaat zijn, maar ik blijf er bij, ik ben er best trots op.
Niet te moeilijk ook, beginnelingen kunnen makkelijk meedoen (wel zien dat je de breibasis meehebt uiteraard). Het is een rondgebreide muts in gewone tricotsteek, maar dat wil niet zeggen dat het geen speciaaltje is.
Ik geef het patroon op in het Engels en het Nederlands.
Maar eerst eens kijken of ik genoeg vrijwilligers bijeen krijg. Ik wil minstens 15 actieve meebreiers samenbrengen alvorens ik hiermee begin. Roep dus maar vrienden en familie op en stuur hen een linkje naar mijn blog hier en naar mijn Ravelry-groep (eerst registreren als je dat nog niet gedaan hebt!) waar we er met z'n allen een leuke KAL van kunnen maken (op die groep is er ook plaats voor discussie en nog belangrijker: tussentijdse foto's!)
Vanaf ik 15 mensen bijeen krijg, beginnen we er mee!

Rose Red
Pattern: Rose Red by Ysolda Teague
Yarn: my own Bluefaced Leicester DK handdyed in a semi-solid deep red.
Needles: 4mm
Modifications: none!
Started it the first day I became sick (something flu’ish, don’t know what…) as a kind of comfortgift for myself! I realy deserve it!
It was a quick knit (sick people can’t knit all day long, you know! So 4 days for a hat is quick in this case!) and I loved following the changes in the pattern.
And now I love the result, I even love it more than my boho-hat!!! (which seems impossible, so that means something!)
Told me last year that I ever was going to wear a hat and I would laughed at you!
Maybe I’ll redye it in a more deep red color, but I’m not sure, IRL it’s deeper red than on the pictures.
Atlanta shows it on the pictures… I don’t have to tell that she loves modeling for a camera, I guess :P
She’s a bit dirty too, I better took the pictures after her evening-bath, haha!
It still needs a good block, but I guess that's something for when I'm better ;o)

Very Cherry
Pattern: Very Cherry by Alana Dakos
Yarn: Lana Grossa Basics hp No.31 in a beautiful red color.
Needles: 4mm
Modifications: none!
Having 3 daughters is fun!!! You don't need to swatch when knitting something. You just knit it in DD2's size with a needle you think is good for it... in a worst-case scenario it's to small for DD2, but then DD3 can always wear it when she's grown into it, so 1 of the 3 can still enjoy it. In a best-case scenario, it's to big for DD2 and all 3 can enjoy it!
That's what happened here... I knitted size 3 year without swatching, but it's to big for my 3 year old.
You can't believe how happy DD1 is! Now she can wear it too! And when DD3 is big enough, it will be hers!
I love the pattern, I love the color... It's just a perfect dress for my sweet girly girl. She wanted to wear it to school today. Way to big, but she weared it with proud! Look at her sweet little face... doesn't she look great in it?

Once upon a time...
... there was a Breimuis, who knitted a lovely pair of socks in one of the most beautiful colors I've ever seen!
She had only 1 problem: she didn't liked the color.
That's where I came in the picture, I fell in love with it immediatly and told her that. Thinking of dying sockyarn in that color and make them for myself, I fell a sleep that night.
A few days later, I saw that she pm'ed me at Ravelry with the idea to do a swap. The pair of socks against a nice ball of handdyed semi-solid sockwool.
I was so happy!!! I dyed her some superwash Merino in a fabulous aubergine-bordeaux color, put some chocolat and tea in the box and it was on its way!
Today the socks arived, the color is in real life just beyond imaginations. I always fall for vivid colors like that, but this one is one of my favorits!
She was so nice to make the socks a little longer (my feet are bigger ;o)) and they fit wonderful!
Did I already told you that I'm totaly in love???

And some other great news:
after 2 years of pain, 5 months of unbearable pain (and when I talk about pain, I realy mean PAIN!), 3 months of bandage plasters and a surgery, my elbow is out of the bandage plasters (and out of pain, it's so unreal)! You can't believe how happy I am! Finaly, the end is near!
